This issue is being addressed at http://askubuntu.com/questions/368435 .
** Description changed:
Since I have upgraded to 13.10, my notebook can not resolve host names.
I expect DNS servers received by DHCP to be written into
- /etc/resolf.conf which is not the case.
+ /etc/resolv.conf which is not the case.
- When I click on the network indicator information menu item, I also see
- the right DNS servers there.
+ When I click on the network indicator Connection Information menu item,
+ I also see the right DNS servers there.
By calling 'nmcli dev list iface eth0 | grep IP4.DNS' I can see that
NetworkManager transmits the right DNS servers.
- I have also tried deleting /etc/resolf.conf and it is not created when I
+ I have also tried deleting /etc/resolv.conf and it is not created when I
reconnect.
- I have added 'nameserver 8.8.8.8' to resolf.conf to get my browser
+ I have added 'nameserver 8.8.8.8' to resolv.conf to get my browser
working but that is only a temporary workaround.
