  Grub screen cuts off to the left since upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Since Upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04- all versions have had this problem ,
  12.04, 12.10, 13.04.

  The grub screen is cut off on the left, but otherwise functional.
  Still, it would be nice to be able to read it.

  boot-repair did not help.  Report from there is at
