  Saucy to trusty upgrade fails with some '404  Not Found' errors

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Upgrading a saucy desktop (confirmed to be happening with both i386
  and amd64 installations) to trusty fails with the following message,

  Error during update

  A problem occurred during the update. This is usually some sort of 
  network problem, please check your network connection and retry.

  http://extras.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/source/Sources 404 
  Not Found

  Steps:
  1. Install saucy desktop 
  2. Carry out dist-upgrade and reboot
  3. Now run either 'do-release-upgrade -d' or 'update-manager -d' and follow the on screen prompts to carry out the upgrade
  4. It could be noticed that the upgrade fails with the above message.
