[Bug 1243365] [NEW] Fails to erase disk with apparently nonsense error message

Public bug reported:

I ran "Startup Disk Creator".
I connected a usb pendrive.
I selected an iso image, selected the device, and clicked on the "Erase disk" button.

After several seconds, I got the error message you can see in the
screenshot, which doesn't give any understandable information about what
the problem is, except maybe to the person who wrote the program
