Public bug reported:

I just upgraded to ubuntu13.10 from ubuntu13.04 in the terminal, but at some point it gave me a prompt me to continue(Y / N) or details( d ), so i typed d to see the details, after that I could't continue I was stuck. 
So I closed the terminal and opened it to upgrade again, but i couldn't, it issued an error saying " Preparing the upgrade failedPreparing the system for the upgrade failed so a bug reporting .... ".
