I did not pay enough attention: (ie a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/procps/+bug/1157643)
It was fixed in:  1:3.3.3-2ubuntu8 (saucy)
* however I am on: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS (Precise) ... and did not wish to upgrade by distribution to saucy
