Hi

for the logfile....this helped me (just remove ppa doesnt work)

"grep Broken /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log"

Then remove broken packages. On my system it was 
"sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-all"

  I cannot upgrade from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10
  all I get is the errormessage
