This is not a bug; if you want the files on a Windows filesystem to be
owned by someone other than root, you have to pass the uid mount option.
** Changed in: util-linux (Ubuntu)

Title:
after mounting windows--user can not browse files
Status in “util-linux” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I mounted my windows partition using "sudo mount /dev/hda1 /mnt" and
afterward went to browse the windows partition to copy some files over
to my linux partition. But, it said i do not have permission to
access the windows partition and since the root userid is not standard
with ubuntu i am stuck. Before when i mounted the windows partition
it allowed a regular user to access it.
