Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.  Please try to perform the installation again. This time
make sure that the LiveCD/DVD was burned in the lowest speed.

Also you can try with a Live USB image. See here on how to create one: 
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

Also perform an MD5SUM  before you burn the CD/DVD or USB stick. See here how: 
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
