  tried to install 12.04 alongside 13.10 didn't work

Bug description:
  I had an issue with 13.10, it wouldn't allow me to login, said "failed
  to authenticate" or something like that. Tried to install 12.04
  alongside it, but when the installation finished it said that it
  failed for some reason.
