Public bug reported:
Description: Ubuntu 13.10
Release: 13.10
Dell Inspiron i3 laptop, 64-bit Linux. Inspiron N4110.
In the recovery-mode bash shell, ctrl+shift+K and ctrl+shift+L both work.
I test them by typing into the shell
ctrl+V, ctrl+shift+K, or L. They both work, and display as ^K or ^L respectively.
In terminal mode under Unity, the ctrl+shift+K works the same way, but the ctrl+shift+L is simply absorbed by something
before hitting the terminal. This happens both on my USB keyboard and the built-in laptop keyboard.
I've looked through all of the settings I can find, including Unity and
Ubuntu tweak programs, and the ctrl+shift+L does not appear.
My editor has a command mapped to ctrl+shift+L , and that command did not work. So I noticed this.
The problem turned out to be the keystroke is not seen, and not in the editor.

Xev shows different kinds of output from ctrl+shift+K and ctrl+shift+L:
