Please show the output of:

 dpkg -S `which grub-install`

on your system.

It looks like you have managed to install grub (the BIOS-only, grub 1.0
bootloader) together with shim-signed (the UEFI-only SecureBoot
bootloader).  This is absolutely an unsupported combination.
