sda is apparently a Windows "dynamic disk".  You either need to convert
it back to a basic disk using the Windows disk utility, or install grub
to another disk that is not a dynamic disk.

  grub install failed, fatal error

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I have 3 hard disk in my pc, first SSD sata 3 whit Windows 8 64 bit
  installed, second meccanic Sata 3 and third meccanic Sata 2. When i
  try to install Kubuntu 13.04 on the second hard disk, at the end of
  process i see this error, Esecution of grub-intsall /dev/sda failed,
  this is a fatal error.
