Are you able to reproduce this and can you chkdsk the filesystem from
windows?

Title:
ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt or missing after Ubuntu Natty install

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

First I install XP and patch it to SP3 (sda1), this boots fine before
Ubuntu installation. Then I install Ubuntu Natty also on sda which
boots fine from grub2. However, after installing Ubuntu Natty my XP is
not booting anymore. When i choose XP from grub I get the following
message: "ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt or missing after install"

I also have a Windows 7 install (on sdb, ignore that because I boot
that by choosing it from a BIOS boot menu). By the way I installed
  Windows 7 before XP.

I have attached the output from boot_info_script055.sh in the attached
  RESULTS.txt file.
