If this is still happening, please run sudo dd if=/dev/sda count=64
of=before, then boot into Windows, then run sudo dd if=/dev/sda count=64
of=after, and attach the before and after files.

  Binary package hint: grub

  Hi guys

  i recently Installled Ubuntu 10.10 on my hp laptop dv6 3150SA.its a
  dual boot with win 7. after installing ubuntu i find that grub is
  being deleted very frequently and on boot up it says missing operating
  system. to fix this problem i have to boot to live cd and install grub
  onto sda to see the boot menu again.

  I am not sure what makes the grub being deleted. please let me know if
  you need any further info from me to look into it.
