Title:
hppa kernels need to have *FS_XATTR turned on

Status in “coreutils” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  % ls -l sysctl.conf
  ls: sysctl.conf: Operation not supported
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2405 2008-03-13 18:42 sysctl.conf

There are really two issues here:
  1. all of the FS_XATTR config options should be the same across all architectures
  2. ls should really quit complaining that the syscall correctly returned EOPNOTSUPP

It would be very wonderful if we could get this into at least a
hardy/hppa kernel before 8.04.1, since several packages run tests in
their builds, and fail because stderr doesn't match expected.

  thanks,
  lamont
