Title:
Manually selected modules should be added to mkinitramfs module list
Status in “hw-detect” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I did an install on sparc64 today, and because the installer cannot detect my
ethernet and scsi controller (sbus, not PCI), I had to manually select it from
the installer's list.
However, when I rebooted to the new system, the modules were not loaded, so the
system failed to boot. Also, the ethernet device was not set to "auto" in
/etc/network/interfaces.
IMO, the manually selected modules should be implicitly added to
/etc/mkinitramfs/modules (especially the storage module, which is required to
mount the rootfs). Also, I think that the network interface should still be set
to "auto".
