Title:
Hardy installer changes all partition types to 83 (Linux)
Status in “parted” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Status in “parted” source package in Hardy:
Invalid
Bug description:
I installed from Hardy Alpha 3 CD in a tri-boot configuration -
/dev/sda1 Windows XP
/dev/sda2 Hardy
/dev/sda3 Gutsy
After installation completed, I could no longer boot Windows. It gave
a message that autochk.exe could not be found. After tracking down
the problem via Googling, I found that /dev/sda1's partition type had
changed from 7 (HPFS/NTFS) to 83 (Linux)
I assume this is because of the installer, but I can not be absolutely
sure as I booted Hardy a few times before trying Windows again.
