When it happens again I will do. I guess the screenshot will have to be
done by a camera as I can't do with the system in a hanged shutdown mode.
I do not know how to reproduce it at will so will have to be ready and
do it when happens. Not so often.

Title:
Shutdown, restart and boot up process hangs
Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit from 12.10. Before the system
was very stable and no bugs really.
Now, I have run into a strange problem a couple of times. Sometimes when I tried to shut down the system it would start the shut down process, closes all apps, logs off, goes into the shut down screen with the UBUNTU sign and the "dots" moving and then hangs right there. No disk activity and the shutdown process did not go further.
I tried to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then there was some activity with it going to text mode and some messages of processes closing, but then hang again. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del again gave the same message but hang again. I had to hard shut off the system with the power button pressed for 5 sec. This happened about 4 times.
1 time when I pressed Ctrl-Alt-Del as described above, the system actually went into a reboot and then when started up I could properly shut down from the login screen.
Another instance that might be related is one time when I turned on my laptop the startup process seemed hanging. It was going normal then suddenly went to text mode and hung there. I pressed Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then Ctrl+Alt+F7 and I suddenly got the login screen and I could log in and all was well. Seemingly it hung before giving me the graphical login screen but the above way I managed to get to it anyhow and it worked.
These have only happened since upgraded to UBUNTU 13.04. I am running it on a Dell Inspiron 17R, with 4 GB RAM and only having on OS, the UBUNTU installed.
I am willing to help on the handling of it with testing or further
reports. Can not reproduce the bug as it happened a few times
randomly and might or might not happen in the future.
