Not sure if it is relevant, but the upgrade ran out of disk space, even
though i had the required amount as stated at the beginning of the
install. I noticed space had got v low during the installation of
packages (the install did not complain) and paused the install with
Ctrl-S while i cleared even more space, probably needed an extra
200-300Mb than was originally stated.
