Title:
  A particular version of grub in dapper left a "splashimage=" line that
  makes the cursor disappear in grub

Status in “grub” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “grub” package in Baltix:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  The ESC menu of GRUB on dapper doesn't work. It simply displays
  nothing. My hardware is a Acer Travelmate 8000 with a ATI 9600.

  Also note that the fonts are screwed once grub starts to load the
  Linux kernel (mentioning it as it might be related). It only recovers
  from those screwed fonts while booting happens. It also recovers when
  booting in recovery/rescue mode (the rescue kernel). And it recovers
  when the boot-splash screen appears.

  Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'grub';
  however, that package was not published in Baltix.
