Use the source Luke :)

Seriously, I agree, I always peek at the ifup-Script to get the
"canonical" documentation which is not intuitive.

Title:
ifenslave needs a man(5) page describing the /etc/network/interfaces
  options

Status in “ifenslave-2.6” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
There are the man pages interfaces(5), vlan-interfaces(5), bridge-
  utils-interfaces(5) and maybe others (that's what I get fron a `ls
/usr/share/man/man5/*interfaces*` on my system). But there's no
  ifenslave-interfaces(5) describing the bond-* options.

The only canonical documentation seem to be the ifupdown scripts and
the examples and Google. This should be fixed :)
