I hope I followed your instructions exactly. I tried the sequence three
times. However on the last step I get the following:

 max at max-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get update <max at max-desktop>

E: Malformed line 46 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)

E: The list of sources could not be read.

max at max-desktop:~$ E: Malformed line 46 in source list
/etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)

bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('


Once again, I thank you for your efforts on this problem.
