Correct.  Upgrading from desktop images is not supported; only upgrading
from alternate CDs.

  Hello
  In a fully updated Oneiric insert a usb key with 12.04 created with usb-creator.

  -Expected that it notice that the upgrade volume is inserted and ask
  what to do as happens with the DVD

  -instead nothing happens, just mount the volume and no more
