Public bug reported:

I download the kernel "linux-ti-omap4" from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/linux-ti-omap4.
And I try to build the uImage by extracting the source package and compile it.
Before building the uImage, I set the environment that is the cross-compile path.
And I followed the following commands:

make ARCH=arm omap4_defconfig
make -j4 ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/home/arm-2010q1/bin/arm-noe-linux-gnueabi- uImage

After that I got an uImage.
I replace the uimage of pandaboard ubuntu pre-built binaries with my self-built image.
The pre-built binaries were downloaded from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/11.10/release.

I powered on the pandaboard and booted it. After setting some system
configuration (langualges, time region, keyboard...), it went into the
installment. After a period of time, it told me that the installer
crashed...!
