Are you sure that it is the debug mode that fixes it, or is it simply
enough to kill and restart it?

Title:
[intrepid] acpid only works in debug mode
Status in “acpid” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: acpid
after upgrade to intrepid, acpid did not work anymore (nothing happens
on key events or power state changes)
I have discovered, that it works as usual when started in debug mode
(/etc/default/acpid:OPTIONS="-s /var/run/acpid.socket --debug" ), but
only if I first kill acpid manually, as /etc/init.d/acpid stop doesn't
work either. In debug mode it shows the expected behaviour on key and
power events.
I've attached a verbose lspci output, just tell me, if I can provide
any other useful information.
regards,
tom
PS: btw, is there a way to turn up the loglevel of acpid except with
the debug switch (which leaves the process in forground and also logs
to stdout ...)? I liked it, as it was before in /var/log/acpid ...
