Additional information found: The progress bar moves as expect until
dpkg starts processing triggers. Then the bar is completely still,
therefore the progress bar for update-manager may have some code missing
from it. This does not occour when performing operations with the
Synaptic Package Manager.

Bug description:
  All updates apply successfully, but the progress bar doesn't reach the
  right. My ubuntu version is precsie, running on an emachines er1402
  from 2011.

  Output of lsb_release -rd:

  What should happen is the progress indicator reaches the right on the
