In case someone else wants to look at this, building the latest version
from Debian fails:

/bin/bash ./libtool --mode=install /usr/bin/install -c -c fontforge/fontforge /«PKGBUILDDIR»/debian/nox/usr/bin
libtool: install: /usr/bin/install -c -c fontforge/fontforge /«PKGBUILDDIR»/debian/nox/usr/bin/fontforge
/usr/bin/install: cannot stat 'fontforge/fontforge': No such file or directory

Title:
fontforge should be updated to 20120731 version

Status in “fontforge” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged
Status in “fontforge” package in Debian:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Hello. There has been a fontforge 20120731 release:

  http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=29620722
  http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=29625605

Please update the Ubuntu fontforge package to this latest version. As
per the second message, the b-version is the one to be used as the
first version does not build on 64-bit systems.

BTW can we just remove the "0.0." from the versioning and have the
release date as the version like it is seen upstream?

  Thank you.

P.S.: I have reported this upstream but have filed it here anyway for
the record. Have linked to the upstream bug too.
