Title:
Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 Install Error

  HELP!!!

Used "upgrade-manager -d" install of Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 beta 1
(development branch) from Ubuntu Karic Koala 9.10 64-bit. This was a
  couple days or so ago...

During the install, it updated the Grub Boot menu... on all drives!!!
The original grub menu was only on Main 1TB drive. The original Grub
  menu handled a multi-boot system with WIN7 Pro 64-bit on "hd0,1",
Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit on "hd0,2", Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on
"hd 1,1" and Windows Home Server 2003 on "hd2,1". I also had Solaris
10 64-bit on "hd3,1" and Open Solaris 64-bit on "hd4.1) There is two
lGrub option lines for the BIOS memory test...

How it was originally setup, the Grub Menu was only in the MBR of the
main drive. I could either use the Grub Menu to boot another OS or
use the BIOS to boot from one of the other drives, booting directly
into that OS. I upgraded Ubuntu from Ubuntu 9.10 terminal using
"update-manager -d" as suggested in the web upgrade instructions.
Luckily, I didn't have 2 (hd3 and hd4) of the hard drives connected
  when I upgraded!

What I expected the Grub Menu "update" process to do was the update
the original Grub menu in the MBR of hd0 for any specific changes
needed to boot Ubuntu 10,04 beta1. This is what the process did in
  Ubuntu 9.10.

This is what happened instead- The process not only updated the Grub
Menu on the main drive (0), but over-wrote the MBR's of drive 1 and 2-
adding a duplicated grub menu to each. Now, nothing will boot except
for Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 beta1 (development branch) and it's variants.
Summary= Win7, Windows Vista and Windows Home Server will not boot.
Additionally, now I cannot boot fthrough the BIOS to the native mbr's
on drives 1 and 2 as it hits the duplicated Grub menu's. Did not try
the BIOS Memory test, because it is inprobable that that option was
  affected.

I need to get back to where I can multi-boot the other OS'es. Again,
since drives 3 and 4 were not attached, they where not affected.
(Need help or ideas on this...)
