Hi Daniel,
I can reproduce this issue on raring amd64. Relevant seems that fdflush
is only available on i386.

Title:
aptitude show doesn't work for some existing packages
Status in “aptitude” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Running "aptitude show fdflush" doesn't work, even though there's a
package "fdflush". I checked my spelling very carefully. "apt-cache
search fdflush" works fine. "aptitude show" works fine for other
package names I tried it with.
