Public bug reported:

Cirrus CLGD 5546 PCI graphics card
Ubuntu 12.10

With default settings, the resolution chosen by grub caused a large portion of the right and bottom of the grub menu and cli to be hidden off the screen.

Forcing the resolution to 640x480 in /etc/default/grub and then running
update-grub fixes the problem.

This is an old card used in an old system, so I don't expect there to be much interest in fixing this bug. But I thought I would report it as Google fodder for the next unlucky soul to inherit one....

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
