  update manager vs global menu

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: update-manager

  this goes out when I open a synaptic.

  'E:Type 'n' is not known on line 1 in source list
  /etc/apt/sources.list.d/globalmenu-team-ppa-lucid.list, E:The list of
  sources could not be read.'

  I am using ubuntu 10.04

  I expected that i would have a successful installation of globalmenu
  but instead i was wrong. now i can't use update/ i can't update. The
  error is issued everytime I open synaptic package manager or update
  manager.
