Public bug reported:

I had installed Avant Window Navigator on 12.04 to overcome the
demential mixing of icons in Unity's launcher where launcher icons to
open new applications are stupidly mixed with icons of existing open or
minimized windows (because Apple does it doesn't mean it's a good idea).

I have upgraded to 12.10 and Avant Window Navigator has been
uninstalled. I see no reason for uninstalling a software that the user
has installed. Especially when nothing has been done to make it
unnecessary (the way icons are organized in Unity's launcher hasn't been
improved the slightest bit).
