Public bug reported:
I recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 on a PC. I had to resize existing
partitions and that took a LOONG time (but thats an issue for another
bug). While resizing, no progress was displayed. The window was just
"frozen". This is a very poor user experience. Feedback is of utmost
importance.
What is more worrying is that the resizing was done via ntfsresize (or
some such utility) at the command line and there was no progress report
in the logs either! So I could see the ntfsresize utility pegging the
CPU at 100% and the disk lights blinking like crazy but I could not see
any progress in the logs OR in the GUI.
Please, please add a progress bar so that end users don't get
frustrated.
P.S.: I am not sure what package this bug belongs to, perhaps it should
belong to ubiquity-frontend-gtk?
** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
