Public bug reported:

Software updater notified me about new updates, so I installed them. During the install, I was notified of a system problem during install, which generated this bug report.
I see that it references a problem with the ndiswrapper package.
During the initial install/setup of ubuntu, I couldn't get my wireless card working, and ndiswrapper kept reporing a missing module cpustat.
My son, who is much more adept at linux systems than I am, eventually figured he could solve the problem by downloading a newer version of the ndiswrapper package from sourceforge.net, so presumably the problem relates to that. I believe I have ndiswrapper 1.58 installed, although the software centre doesn't show it at all (ndisgtk instead) and the Synaptics Package manager still shows 1.57.

rootuser at ubuntu:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:	Ubuntu 12.10
Release:	12.10

Software Center reports this version of ndisgtk 0.8.5-1.
rootuser at ubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy ndisgtk
ndisgtk:
  Installed: 0.8.5-1
  Candidate: 0.8.5-1
  Version table:
 *** 0.8.5-1 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I'll have to ask him what exactly he did, but I've attached the file he downloaded from sourceforge.
He works as a software professional in the Linux world, so I assumed he was following the appropriate steps for software installs as he did the upgrade.
