You can close this report, I found a solution... I moved to FreeBSD and
haven't experienced any problems for months.

  Installer crashed at the end

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I simply booted from the Kubuntu ISO image (using a USB stick). I ran
  the installer, answered all the questions. I used JFS for the / and
  /home partitions on a OCZ Vertex 4 SSD. The installer crashes at the
  end, and I have no idea why! This is a brand new machine, just built.
