Title:
bcm13142 wifi+bt chip do not work after upgrade to ubuntu 12.10
Status in “ndiswrapper” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
my dell 3560 laptop was pre-installed with ubuntu 11.10, and the wifi worked fine. the wifi is based on Broadcom integated (hybrid) chip (wifi+bt) type: bcm13142.
after upgrading to ubuntu 12.04 / 12.10 , the chip wasn't recognized anymore (no driver). i manually installed a new driver (3rd party built) , named: wireless-bcm43142-dkms-6.20.55.19_quantal_amd64.deb, and it worked fine.
after the last kernel upgrades (3.5.x) it stopped working again (no driver). after trying to manually install a few solutions based on the source of the above "deb" pkg, it was finally recognized by ubuntu, but no networks found. i always get the same error in the console: wl_cfg80211_scan : WLC_SCAN error (-22)
i do not understand why its so hard to port the 11.10 driver to 12.10
