Added package ubiquity. Problem happening during the installation, I
hope this is the right package, was reading
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Kernel) and there is:

"If you encounter the bug when installing Ubuntu from the Desktop CD
(most common method), the package is ubiquity. (See
DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs.)"

Was using "ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso"

** Package changed: ubuntu => ubiquity (Ubuntu)

Title:
Crash/freeze during installation using ASMedia ASM1061 SATA port

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have exactly the same bug as here described:
  http://askubuntu.com/questions/234353/not-able-to-install-ubuntu-on-
  new-system

Ubuntu is not supporting some SATA ports, and instead of ignoring the
hardware that is using these SATA ports Ubuntu is just crashing when
the installer is starting (without any message!) -> maybe not the best
solution. At the end you are not able to install Ubuntu, just if you
disconnect every single hardware from the unsupported port.

Can I send this problem somehow as a bug? Or is this not a bug, its a "we dont care and you have live with it" stuff? Just asking Im new here with Ubuntu.
I was reading the page: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs how to submit bugs, but I do not understand the page that well. There are some describtions how to report the bug if you are on ubuntu, but as I said, you cannot even install ubuntu or start it from the live cd.

  Some help? Thanks

Edit: dear devs at first it was only a question but now I will post this as a bugreport.
I cannot send you any log files (how should I?). Just the information in the aksubuntu.com link(I have the same motherboard, its the same issue):
  ---
The mainboard got 4x SATA3 connectors. But these are not equal. If we look into the manual (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme4/?cat=Manual) there we can see:

      2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors by Intel® Z77, support RAID (RAID 0,
RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10, Intel Rapid Storage and Intel Smart Response
Technology), NCQ, AHCI and Hot Plug functions

2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors by ASMedia ASM1061, support NCQ, AHCI and “Hot Plug” functions (SATA3_A1 connector is shared with eSATA3 port)
  ---
with ASMedia ASM1061 Ubuntu is crashing when the installation is starting or entering live cd desktop.

Im new here, so if you think this is not a bug or its not possible to fix, then just delete/close it. Im pretty sure, this is not only happening with ASMedia ASM1061 - there are probably other not-supported SATA ports with the same crash bug.
