Do you think for one minute that normal users know what packages or
software wants updating. or installing, because I don't for sure, If I
get a notice my systems need updating then I click on update and let it
do it's thing.  like I did with this set of updates,

Hello,

Probably whoever will look at this will need some indication of what
went wrong; packages that were installed, packages that were needed to
be installed but couldn't, or other error messages. Was there output you
could include?

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  It's just taken 3:55 mins to download and install these updates and
  upgrades now it wants to do more updates,  then comes back and tells
  me it can't calculates the updates/grades  so you work it out, what's
  going wrong
