What virtual drive?

You might try setting your bios to boot in legacy mode instead of EFI.

Title:
  grub-installer fail

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
-Trying to partition out a section for windows7 because i can not get that bootable disk to work, enters directly into efi.
-So I installed Ubuntu in a smaller partition(ext3 /) right behind the efi boot loader. Added in swap behind the Ubuntu partition and finally my partition for windows(FAT32 /windows). Made sure all my space allocations were correct by Ubuntu's website and then tryied to install. After a little wait it finally came to a crash saying grub could not be installed and without grub it would not boot.
