Thank you for the feedback, I have long since moved on to a newer
version of Ubuntu, but I can tell you that I created the installation
USB stick using UNetbootin with an Ubuntu ISO image I downloaded from
ubuntu.com. I used UNetbootin on a computer running Debian unstable.
