[Bug 1218308] [NEW] apt-get install crashes on zero length package name

$ sudo apt-get install ""

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
  what():  basic_string::compare


Giving "" (zero length string) as the package name seems to be what causes the problem.
