Thank you for clarification. I understand that it's not a bug. But I
didn't find any documentation that explains customization of that
background image.

Title:
grub theme background image misplacement
Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I tried a few grub2 themes that I found on github. I followed the guide and updated grub. Theme shows up well at boot, but an ugly misplacement of framed background image occupies center of the screen prior to exiting grub menu. It resides a few seconds then disappear with grub menu. I removed all background images that grub can search for. I even run "sudo chmod -x /etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme" to see what happens, in which case it places a black frame.
Isn't it possible to disable background image on grub screen?
