I may be hallucinating, but on my 13.04 install (64-bit) the software
updater dialog seems to display at least some ppa updates, but not those
from the main Ubuntu repositories.

Bug description:
  Software Updater displays the message: "Updated software is available for this computer.  Do you want to install it now?"
  However, the Details of updates list is blank.
  Software Updater displays the size of the download.
  The Technical decription, Changes text area is blank.
  The Technical decription, Description area is also blank.

  When update-manager is run from the commandline, the only output is...
