[Bug 1002061] Re: cron does not log information

Well.

With '-L4', cron will log all failed jobs. So, if you do not see any
output, that means it did not fail. For other possible values for '-L',
see 'man cron'.

Please note that "did not fail" is NOT the same as "it did what I
wanted."

Now, I hope you realise that redshift will not really work if started by
cron. Redshift requires X, and cron runs outside X.

I am putting this bug back into INCOMPLETE, on its way to INVALID (not a
bug), in order to allow your input. But this is certainly not a bug.

Title:
  cron does not log information

Status in “cron” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When I check /var/log/ for any potential log reports for cron, there
is nothing there, even though cron is running. Cron is not reporting
  any of its errors.
