Title:
  grep --color prints line but doesn't color it

Status in “grep” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grep

  I get:

  $ echo -e "aBc\naBC" | grep "aB[a-z]"
  aBc
  aBC

  where the first line of output is colored red, but the second line
  isn't. This seems wrong. Either aBC is matched, in which case it
  should be colored, or it isn't matched, in which case it shouldn't be
  printed at all.
