The Ubuntu release this was reported with has reached End of Life since
you reported the bug. Is this still an issue for you on a supported
release? (Try Ubuntu 12.04 or 13.04)

Bug description:
Binary package hint: upstart
upstart reports a segmentation fault when rebooting or on shutdown.
Disks are unable to unmount causing issues on successive boots due to
unclean file systems. Unable to capture logs since issue occurs
immediately before system hard restart/power down.

New alternative install of Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64, using LVM2 for mounting /usr, /var, /home.
Problem began occurring after configuring nfs with targets that are autofs, but may be unrelated.
