Public bug reported:
I am trying to upgrade to from 10.04 to 12.04, but it says:
=====================================
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal.
=====================================
Also received this message from ubuntu-bug:
=====================================
$ 2.4+ kernel w/o ELF notes? -- report this
=====================================
And I had to sudo chmod 644 /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt-
clone_system_state.tar.gz to include it into the dist-upgrade.tar.gz
file; but it still issues an error when I try to compress the directory;
hope it is still useful...
