In Raring, this causes the upload itself to fail. Sample output:

Checking signature on .changes
gpg: <First part of path, up until the first space in the path>: read error: Is a directory
gpg: verify signatures failed: eof
No signature on <Full path to the .changes file>.

  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I compiled a package inside my "~/Ubuntu One" folder, then try "dput "
  it (to mentors.debian.net). The output:

  $ dput mentors gnome-ksnapshot_1.0_amd64.changes 
  Checking signature on .changes
  gpg: impossibile aprire "/home/ororo/Ubuntu"
  gpg: verify signatures failed: errore durante l'apertura del file
  Error in finding signature verification status.
  (...)

  
  Apart from this, dput works. Files are transferred to the server anyway.
  I don't know if this is dangerous or not. In doubt, I have modified one line of dput as in attachment.
