This is happening to me as well. I am running 12.10. It also prevents me
from installing any other software.

Bug description:
  I am on daily current precise. I'm just sending this so that people
  might fix it if it comes around. I know I'm running alpha so I don't
  expect this to work but maybe someone would like to know. Trying to
  install through Ubuntu Software Center. Installed git-core through
  terminal to get it working but can't get any of the extras from the
  USC to install. That is the info sent here. Thanks.
